sunset express

The photo that I used for this work was made in August. I went to see an exposition in the woods and was on my way back home, when I crossed this piece of railway... or level crossing is the correct word I believe. I was kinda in a hurry, so I quickly stood in the middle of the track and made several photo's. When I got back home, a strange feeling overwhelmed me when I saw the photo. In my eyes the photo had a lugubrious character, considering the thought that I was standing in the middle of the railway. It didn't really cross my mind when I was standing there, but when I saw the photo I was looking for a train. I was looking for an end. I saw it in the sky. That's why I emphasized the sky by mirroring it. It gave a surreal effect and I liked it.
